Slayer dreams #14

truepennyThe show is over, but the dream, if you'll pardon the expression, lives on.
And why do I post these, you ask? Narcissism. Also, sometimes they're funny, or my brain has produced an interesting comment on the show. And I'm intellectually fascinated by the intersection of pop-culture and individual psychology that they represent (it's all very Jungian). I cut-tag for those of you who aren't.
Extremely creepy and unpleasant, next door to nightmare dream that was pretending to be an episode (as some of my Buffy dreams do. S2 Buffy, S5 Spike--Buffy goes investigating on her own and gets enthralled by a bunch of vampires, of the sort who can turn themselves into bats, but not the cheesy S5 Dracula, and when I say "enthrall," I don't mean, "make out with." Despite the fact that Freud taught us they're always connected, this was emphatically about death and not about sex. Spike rescues her. Only this isn't Spike as we see him, sanitized and prettified and Marstered; this is more what an actual vampire would be like (well aside from the looking like a bleached-blond version of Dream from the end of "Men of Good Fortune," which was just as unfortunate decision on my subconscious's part): he reeks of old blood and he looks dead. The fact that there's something animating it doesn't change the fact that the body is a corpse. VERY uncomfortable scene as Buffy's trying to thank him--to treat him like a man instead of a monster.
Then this morning, after a very weird production of 1 Henry IV (I think Vincent Kartheiser was Hal), I dreamed that Faith was sneering at my beloved Converse high-tops. Which figures.
