Thinking about Buffy

Reminding myself of one of my resolutions when I started this LJ: I will not be embarrassed or defensive about liking something which other people think is a piece of shit, or vice versa.

Last night's Buffy wasn't great, true.

It suffered the usual mid-season Buffy problems, true.

But, hey, it didn't have Riley Finn in it. And that puts it way ahead of the game in my book.

I was surprised so many people disliked it. I loved last nights episode. I thought the plot was advanced, I enjoyed Buffy's Speech (I am a sucker for a pre-game rally though) and I was afraid when Xander took the Slayer-Wanna-Bes to the construction site - I thought there was going to be some serious human carnage and it freaked me out.

Seriously - for episode 11 - I was entertained and that is all I ask.

Don't feel defensive at all. I didn't like Showtime but I lurved Never Leave Me, which a lot of people say was shite. I didn't like Lessons either, which most people gave mad props to. If you were entertained, that's the only thing that matters.
