bookkeeping & sundries
Jun. 26th, 2003 07:44 amnew short story: 146 words squeezed in (or out) between 10 p.m. and 7:45 a.m. I also got the whole thing plotted, so that I can come back to it in snatched moments and not completely forget what the fuck is going on.
verdict: Happy.
###
Poor Mirrorthaw has a cold. But, on the upside, he now also has a really stellar Gollum impression.
###
This morning, since the weather is cooperating with me, I think is a good time to incorporate at least some of the stuff I read Tuesday. Also need to do MLA searches for Equus and Le Pacte des Loups. I may be a tourist in the twentieth century, but at least I know which guidebook to trust.
Then this afternoon it's back to the library.
My goal is to have a committee-worthy (like sea-worthy, only with committal) draft of the whole damn thing by September. I don't know if I can manage that--or even if it's a remotely reasonable height at which to set the bar, but as somebody once said (and if you know who/where, please tell me, because it's bugging me no end): Better to aim for the stars and reach the moon than to aim for the roof and only get halfway up the stairs.

Yoga last night kicked my ass. In a good way. Back muscles ache that I didn't even know I had.
