[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck and I watched Lilo and Stitch tonight, and I now have a slavering deathless crush on the entire movie, and especially Stitch.

This is the only Disney movie that I've seen as an adult and whole-heartedly liked--and I don't just like it. I am delighted by it in that bounce up and down giggling with joy way that has no justification except its own goofy, giddy, ebullient self.

Also, I am grinning like a fool.

Heeeee.

I read this aloud to my housemate, who was the one who got me so bloody in love with that movie.

Beam.

("Wow. San Francisco.")

I watched L&S over and over while getting through a nasty breakup, and can now recite most of the movie by heart. :) And I have a Stitch plushie, which I *heart*! and sleep with. ;)

"Oh, good, my dog found the chainsaw!" has passed into the language round here.

And Sherilyn who grew up in Hawaii says they got all the local color right, except for the picnic lunch. (Apparently one takes a peculiar thing called a "plate lunch" to the beach.)

Understandable.

You described my reaction to it too.

Stitch plushies are the *best*!

Though I kind of long for one with six arms.

Oh yah, definitely. The only six-armed one the Disney store had (when I looked) was a small one wearing a jumpsuit, though. And although I was sorely tempted by the one that had different sound effects in his feet ("Meega nala kweesta!"), that one was not quite fluffy enough.

My ideal Stitch plushie: slightly bigger than the one I have now, with six arms (and the back spines and antennae), and would say various lines from the movie while still being fully soft and cuddly. :)
