Time-out from the angst-fest
Jan. 14th, 2003 07:32 amThere are disadvantages to having grown up in the 80s, and someday maybe I'll list them, starting with Reagan and ending with blue eyeshadow; one of the ones that comes up with distressing frequency in my day-to-day life is that my idea of comic strips was molded by Bloom County, Calvin and Hobbes, and The Far Side. This means that it is very, very difficult, in the post-Breathed/Watterson/Larson era, to find comic strips that feel like they're worth my time.
9 Chickweed Lane is. It's beautifully drawn, it's very nerdy, it's almost always amusing, and it is on several occasions laugh-out-loud funny. So that's my contribution to Tuesday morning: something fun.
