at least it's not writer's block

It is a no-good, very-bad thing when my creativity and my insomnia decide to gang up on me.

Well, in one way, it's good, in the way that the new necklace story finally has a plot, an attitude, and a beginning. But in the way where I feel not unlike chipped death on toast this morning, it is not so much good as infuriating.

The trouble with Robin McKinley's Deerskin

I reread Deerskin recently, in a spirit of inquiry. I'd read it in college and not been terribly impressed, and was wondering if it was just callow youth, or something else. As my Subject line suggests, it seems to be Something Else.
