John Ritter and Johnny Cash have both died.
Johnny Cash was ... Johnny Cash.
And although I hated almost everything I ever saw John Ritter in--the inanity of Three's Company, the cringeworthy 1990 TV movie of It, the flat-out embarrassing biopic of Jan and Dean (which apparently is so embarrassing the IMDb won't even list it)--and generally disliked his acting style, he redeemed himself for me, forever and ever, Get Out of Jail Free, with his performance in the Season 2 Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, "Ted." And on that basis, I am saddened by the news of his death on a level other than that of common humanity.
