National Teacher Day

Google tells me that today is National Teacher Day.

There are many teachers I'm grateful to, both in the Oak Ridge Schools (particularly those who made junior high school less of a living hell than it would otherwise have been) and at Case Western Reserve University. These people are underpaid, underappreciated, and doing the most important job in the world.

And I also admire my friend heres_luck, who is the best teacher I know.

I just sent an email to the husband of my best beloved English teacher, a thank you letter for her. (Google is a wonderful, wonderful thing.) Hopefully, this will all work out and my message will get to her. I hope she'll remember me, but that's not even the point. The point is to say thank you.
