retrograde writing
Feb. 17th, 2007 01:47 pmSo as of the thirteenth Summerdown had an Entr'Acte (1,306) words, Chapter One (6,443 words), Chapter Two (10,051 words), and Chapter Three (8,803) words.
On the fourteenth, I figured out I was doing it All Wrong.
On the fifteenth, I flailed.
On the sixteenth, I wrote 2,177 words of a new plotline for the protagonist who still won't tell me his real name.
So now I'm back to where I was in the internal chronology on the thirteenth, with Chapter One (5,277 words), Chapter Two (7,706 words), and Chapter Three (6,710 words).
My retrograde motion is pretty impressive here, as we go from 26,603 words to 19,693 words. On the other hand, I like these words better, and we may now actually have enough plot to go around.
Welcome to my process. If you find a map, please let me know.
