I don't want to talk about the Vice tradition wrt Richard III. If I'd thought it was at all relevant to my argument, I would have put it in myself. I need a special subliminal formatting tag to say: Not my idea. My committee insisted.
Also? I hate signposting. Hate it. My readers should be telepathic, dammit, and able to figure out what I mean for themselves. (There's an even baser, nastier voice saying, My readers should be able to read what I wrote, not what they believe or want to believe I wrote, but that's not remotely fair, and I know it.)
