truepenny: artist's rendering of Sidneyia inexpectans (lear-jess79)

Just got off the phone with my dissertation director.

Progress is happening, even if it doesn't feel like there's enough of it to go around. I am starting to torment myself with thoughts that I might actually be done--really done--by Wiscon. I don't think that's true, but ye gods and little Buddhas it would be nice.

I've finished the first four items on the most recent to do list. Which means I MUST go to the library this afternoon.

Sometimes I think the worst thing the Albatross has done is that it has made me library-phobic.

When you know you're really getting done, cherish that feeling. It comes once in a lifetime. What's the work on, by the way?

You can do it. You will do it. [pat, pat]

Sometimes I think the worst thing the Albatross has done is that it has made me library-phobic.

Surely that will pass.

Oh argh. Sorry. I thought I'd answered this earlier.

The particular albatross around my neck is called "It harrows me with fear and wonder": Horror and Haunting in Early Modern Revenge Tragedy. So it's about ghosts and revenge tragedy and the genre conventions of horror. Broadly speaking.
