You always have scrap paper.

I've currently got all the things I know about the rest of Kekropia on pieces of paper spread out across the living room floor, and am taping together (with [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck's scotch tape) the pieces that have a narrative (horizontal lines) or thematic connection (vertical lines).

I'm not sure how much it's doing for the book, but I'm very much afraid I'm inventing a new kind of abstract art.

Sounds very much like me organizing my Edward II paper last year. Only I used staples. When I picked up the resulting sheets, it resembled a demented, very homoerotic Chinese lantern. :o)

If you should use up all of yours, you can have some of mine. I haven't used up the last book manuscript yet, and I have one to edit and another one almost to that point. I recycled the last of my scrap before we left California, and still I have a mountain. Oof.

I have six copies of my dissertation.

I'm not running out any time soon, unless I carry through on my threat to burn the damn thing.

I love this description. Partly because it's a pretty good thumbnail of E2 itself. *g*

You have a backyard now, you know. I bet we could dig a firepit big enough. Or just use the driveway. Pity there's no fireplace...

Burn the dissertation on the future site of the vegetable garden?

That has a certain symbolic appeal.
