I am bravely exploring.

I am making sourdough bread.

The starter is [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck's, so it's not like I'm tackling the whole mountain at once. Just a foothill. But regardless, it's a deviation from routine, and from the bread recipe that I know so well I haven't actually looked at it in two or three years.

I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Also this morning, The Rescuers, Miss Bianca, and The Turret arrived from the SFBC. I am happy enough to purr.

Finished The Shadow Guests yesterday. It's as good as I remember it being; it can also be added to the list of YA books (like Charlotte Sometimes) that go ahead and admit how unpleasant kids can be to each other, especially in a boarding-school situation.

And now, having opened Chapter 8, I need to do some hand exercises and go glare at it.

OH! That could make me reconsider rejoining the SFBC...I do so love Bernard and Miss Bianca!

Good luck on the bread. Hot sourdough + fresh butter = happy Mia making moany sounds through mouthful of goodness.

I love the quiet terror of the moment in The Shadow Guests when an unidentified white thing falls out of Conrad's sleeve and scurries away to hide somewhere in his room. Aieeeee.....
