Friending

People keep friending me. It's very weird.

It makes me happy, mind you, and I'm just sorry I can't friend everybody back. But if I do, I will go mad, aside from not writing my dissertation and not editing The Project and ... and, well, probably forgetting to speak to my husband for days on end. V. bad.

Must remember that Friends list is not #1 priority in life.

Must resolve, in future, not to use "friend" as a verb. It's obscene.

It really is. It's only the tinest better than AIM's "buddy".

Yes, but ANYTHING is better than the word "buddy." Even one of my three least favorite Buffy-words, "bud" (right up there with "hottie" and "honey" (either as term of endearment or synonym for "sig.other")), is better than "buddy."

But you're right. If I had to have a "Buddies" list on LJ, I don't think I'd be here right now.

Speaking of which... would you mind if I were to add you to my friends list? I only just got a livejournal so I'm not entirely clear on whether or not it's acceptable to add people without asking first. I ask because you have good taste in literature, sensible comments on Buffy, and a nifty user icon.
