While we are on the topic, I should add that, if you happen to walk through a doorway barefoot, it is wise to check and make sure your bare toes fit inside the doorway at the widest part of your stride, because toe + door lintel = broken toe.

And, it's very embarrassing to explain that one broke one's toe walking through a doorway.

Oh, I've done that, too. Didn't actually break my toe, but bad things happened. (I think I'll spare us all the details.)
