matociquala opened the can of worms about the CSI/Harry Potter MPREG fanfic on the long list.

coffeeandink is thinking about what constitutes genderbending. And what doesn't.

I am not contributing to the conversation at this time, for the same reason I don't discuss my reactions to reviews except in the most general of terms. Conflict of interest, otherwise known as the "So, have you stopped beating your wife yet?" conundrum. The personal may be political, but ad hominen arguments are still the Tar Baby. Once you touch it, you're guaranteed to end up immobilized and covered in black goo.

But I encourage everyone to sashay over to Bear's and Mely's blogs and see what other people are saying. Because I do think the discussion is worth having.

Tooth and Claw was on the Tiptree long list a few years ago, so I haven't felt I should directly address the question either.

I don't know whether to feel regretful or relieved that no-one's discovered my gender-bending fanfic yet, since I do sort of want to scrape the serial numbers off the one that actually might have a shot at winning some sort of prize. :/
