if nobody except people of a particular minority (class, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.) write about that minority, then representations of that minority will never get out of the ghetto of being "minority writing."

That's only if no members of the majorities read or promote those writings. If it's the case that members of the majorities will only read works by other members of the majorities, that's a huge problem.
