OMG! I'm a hard fantasy junkie! Who knew? But I love reading all those books that tell you how the world works, in all their messy, cobbled-together-on-the-fly, realistic glory.
Summed up as "what's the magic do?" Because in a real world, there isn't going to be a billion and one enchanted swords and armor. You're going to have enchanted bedpans, too.
