who is flailing in despair.

Instead, have some reviews.

[livejournal.com profile] lilithsaintcrow reviews Mélusine (and thank you, ma'am, for the heads-up).

Likewise, Avid Reader.

And [livejournal.com profile] baleanoptera likes reading my books for many of the same reasons I like writing them.

I LOVED 'Melusine'. I'm at Uni or studying for Uni 24/7, so you are making my life really hard right now as I'm also working through 'The Virtu'. 'Melusine' is now one of my top favorite books of all time. I brought it home from the library twice -twice!- but somehow couldn't force myself to read it...I don't know, the synopsis didn't pull me in. When I had no other choice, I started reading the book and I found it was Perfect (yes, with a capital P). I honestly cannot wait for your next one. Are they all about Felix Harrowgate and Mildmay? How many are there going to be? I love how you came up with Mildmay's name! It seems so original! I also love (I'm sure you realize I loved a lot of things about the book) the way you have developed both characters so well. I kind of liked Mildmay's point of view a little better towards the latter half of 'Melusine' but Felix is an equally Perfect character. The thing that was so wonderful about 'Melusine', that set it apart from many other fantasy novels, is the spontaneity of the events. There is no epic quest or adventure that our 'heroes' are on. They're just escaping...and wonderful things happen along the way. Sigh. Did I mention Mildmay was unutterably wonderful in 'Melusine'? This is also the first book I've ever read that had a same-sex pairing. Oh, I've read a lot of slash fanfiction, but never an actual novel! I have to congratulate you on how well you showed that relationship. Felix's attraction for Mildmay in 'The Virtu' is so intriguing it's seriously killing me. I don't think I can survive the rest of the series! Thank you for writing so well and I sincerely hope you never stop. I am eagerly awaiting the rest of your novels about Felix and Mildmay. Just wondering...Did the idea for 'Melusine' and the rest just...pop up fully formed in your genius brain, or did you have to cultivate it and work on it for a long time? Because this is one of the most intricately planned books I have ever read. There are so many little details that make the characters and the world seem so real! If you ever get around to answering your tons of fanmail, please e-mail me at cool88gal09@hotmail.com I would love to hear from you!
