Chapter 8: 14,084 words
Chapter 9: 6,721 words
I'm not actually as productive as this makes it look, because what was wrong with Chapter 9 is solvable partly by fixing what's wrong with Chapter 1 (done) and partly by fixing what's wrong with Chapter 10 (next up on the headsman's block).
But it's still not bad.
And that's the end of Part One.

ursulav) is hypnotic: both gorgeous and disturbing.
