This 750 words a day thing seems to be working out pretty well. It has at least backed Felix into a corner where he's started throwing pieces of plot at me in self defense.

There are, of course, many other things I should also be doing, but for the moment 750 words a day is just going to have to be achievement enough.

At that rate, it's more like building the Great Wall of China 44 miles at a time.

Which sounds even more daunting, actually.

Hee. That's what my characters are doing as well, re: the 750 words a day thing...

Speaking of Felix, I've had a question about a certain aspect of his appearance ever since I found your LJ. Are his eyes perhaps inspired by the man in the picture on the left?

750 a day seems to have short-circuited the Guilt Squirrel. Fascinating. Instead of HOW DARE YOU NOT WRITE YOU FIEND followed by THAT WASN'T ENOUGH YOU JERK, well... I made my quota, so buzz off. And, as the Bear says, it adds up.

Actually, as far as I can tell, it's either pure coincidence or a Jungian Pool sort of deal. I did not become a David Bowie fan until rather late last year, and did not consciously know about his eyes when I made up Felix.

That said, I too find it slightly freakish.

This is a little random, but I thought you might like to read this review, it's pretty funny, and it prompted me to buy Melusine (now, to get my hands on a copy of The Virtu.)
It's at http://mistful.livejournal.com/91426.html , the review starts about halfway down the entry.
