Central Casting
Jan. 12th, 2007 10:10 pmThis is something I've had to learn before, and doubtless will have to learn again. But it matters--at least in my process.
Make sure you've got the right guy for the role.
Do not settle for Stuart Townsend because he is pretty and available when it's really Viggo Mortensen you need. Viggo's going to give you character bits and reaction shots and he's going to make you think of things you hadn't considered when all you had going for you was "pretty" and "available."
And suddenly your story is going to be ever so much more interesting.
Listen to Viggo, man. He's trying to tell you something.
