Absofreakinlutely! You've pegged so many things I *love* about this series. (Even if I haven't written any in ages, it inspired me to unmatched flights of fanfic...) It's a smart show, a weird show, and it pokes fun at BOTH sides of the border. And it's got this weird vein of magical realism that makes me so very happy. I still think it's one of the best shows ever made for TV.
