The rest of the Inspector Chen books are indeed heaps of fun as well. I love discovering a new mythology I know almost nothing about. Also, Liz Williams is on LJ as mevennen, and she's a lovely person who regales us with tales of her own Presumptuous Cat, named Sid, and shares her recipes willingly with random LJers. :)
