Whatever you celebrate in December, I hope it's very happy.

Thank you. It was very nice. (As I said in my response to the HRC e-card, "My holiday is over. All that's left for me in December is some free time and a lot of bad parking." But you know, free time is nice.)

Whatever you celebrate in a red santa hat, I hope it was, is, and/or will be very happy, too.

I got into a stupid argument with someone about your books two days ago, and I'm not in the mood to re-open it, so I'm saying this here rather than there:

Dammit, you very nearly made me cry. My eyes freaking welled up. I just finished The Mirador, and am sniffly and smiling, but a few pages before the end I was within a hairsbreadth of crying outright - and I don't do that. I'm sure some book since The Outsiders, Bridge to Terebithia and Cyrano de Bergerac has made it happen, probably within the last decade even, but nothing's coming to mind.

Good book. Thank you for writing it.

Dear Sarah,

I have been reading your blog regularly but this is the next time I'm commenting on it. Reading your blog has been a ritual for me and I want to thank you for all the happiness you've given to me.

At this time, I want to take the opportunity to give you my heartfelt wishes for Christmas and wish you a great New Year ahead.

May all your dreams come true :-)
