I was a Brownie for exactly a week, and then I quit because I could not imagine I was going anywhere fun with an organization that started out having you make a faux-leather "sit-upon" from a kit. Also, I have to admit, I have never been a fan of groups. As I vaguely remember, the troop leader was actually very concerned that I hadn't felt welcome and spoke to my mother about it, but my mother, knowing how I felt about groups, didn't push the issue.
