1. Having just finished The Wee Free Men, I point everyone to Match It For Pratchett.

2. Fourth Street Fantasy Convention is June 20-22. [livejournal.com profile] matociquala is the Guest of Honor, and I'm going as her date.

3. The last print issue of Subterranean Magazine has a story of mine in it.

4. As does the current issue of Weird Tales.

5. David Berberick is trying to answer the question, Why do people love Tolkien? If you want to help, take his survey.

6. If you've read A Companion to Wolves and noticed a typo, you could do [livejournal.com profile] matociquala and me a tremendous favor by commenting either on this post or on her post asking for the same favor.

7. L. Timmel Duchamp reviews The Bone Key for Strange Horizons.

8. [livejournal.com profile] muneraven also reviews it.

9. And from the Department of Head Trips, Alison Sinclair (whom I do not know, but I wish her well) has sold a fantasy trilogy which is described as being "in the tradition of Sarah Monette and Ellen Kushner."

o.O

I have a tradition?

Are you going to get her a corsage?

Since I'm her date, doesn't she get me the corsage?

Or we could get a mutual corsage.

Just received the issue of Weird Tales you refer to yesterday, and I immediately skipped ahead to read "The Yellow Dressing Gown." Maybe I'm biased because I absolutely love KMB as a character and the stylistic elements of his stories, but I was impressed. It was genuinely creepy and well worth the price of the issue. Great work!

9. I think this translates to "whichever female authors have been selling lately", much like a blurb I saw for a favorite singer of mine (Amanda Palmer) which compared her to Joan Jett and Norah Jones. o.O Yeah, because they sound remotely like each other or the singer in question.

You realize, of course, that my immediate impulse was to revise your Pleased Porpentine icon to read "I can has tradition!"

Genius worldbuilding and sympathetic characters who do completely horrible things? Actions with permanent consequences?

I have to confess that I've always thought it would be entertaining (albeit in a potentially brutal sort of way) to put Felix and Alec into a locked room together...

I sooo love this idea. Blood would be spilt with just words alone. I think they would hate each other on site.

Well, technically, they would indeed be hating each other in that very location (on site) as well...

But to be a fly on the wall and be able to listen in to the blistering.

I know Alison Sinclair! Somehow I can't really picture her writing anything remotely like Melusine. We Shall See, I suppose.

This is way the heck late, but on page 265 of the mass-market paperback of ACTW there is what I think to be a bad hyphenation four lines up from the bottom: "trells-pear".
