(I'm being spoilery, in case someone is reading the comments and hasn't read Mirador yet)
A story about Cardenio would make me, and the friends of mine that have read DoL, SO. HAPPY. OH GOODNESS. I literally squealed when he showed up again in book three!
Yeah, I've seen a couple pieces of DoL fanart on deviantart, myself. Some of em are really good! I wish there were more.
I understood indiction/septad/decad/etc! The only thing about the calendrical system I didn't understand was the way the Lower City expressed years in numericals. I'm only curious because I've been rereading the bits of Mirador with Amaryllis Cordelia to better understand the mystery, and Whatshisname goes on and on about dates, and I don't fully understand it. I assume one of them is septads and one is great septads, but I don't know which, or the other set of numbers.
You know, it's weird. I used to be a pretty big fan of Mildmay/Felix, but the more I read the books the more the idea completely weirded me out. It's not even the fact that Mildmay's straight (goodness knows that hasn't stopped us fangirls before), I think it was just their dynamic, mostly. I feel like if they did end up getting together, all other obstacles aside, they would end up destroying each other. So the fangirl in me now is just craving more and more brotherly moments...and for Mildmay to find a girl, becuase...poor guy.
You didn't expect Mildmay to have this many fans?! Seriously?! Hah, I think part of why we like him so much is you can see into his head. I don't think he would have as many fans if all we saw was Mildmay's stony...ness. What I personally like about him is he is very much a guy, a real one, with flaws and guy mannerisms, unlike a lot of the male characters I see written by females these days.
Hah, shutting up now. It was a very interesting Q&A post this time around.
