No way to say this without sounding like a gushing fan, but your rowing to mordor project has been so inspiring that I have just ordered my own machine, for my own similar ("blatant ripoff") project.

Not sure where I will row to, I'm not a Tolkien fan, and I think that I would like to stay in the real world. Along Hadrian's Wall (relatively short 120km) or along the Rhine (1,320 km!) are contenders, but neither feels quite right.
