pt. 1: I have most often seen the notion used in a twee & pretentious fashion, and I am suspicious--as cristalia and I agree upthread--on anything which tends to romanticize and/or mystify the creative process. Which is the opposite of what you're doing.

pt. 3: Your model makes me dizzy and uncomfortable, even if I accept that it's true, and I think it would prevent me from writing. I prefer to pretend that the earth is still flat and my characters are merely aspects of me--conscious, unconscious, subconscious, dreamed, folded, spindled, mutilated, warped, reflected, fragmented, whatever.
