Other work accomplished: Read about three fourths of the introduction to Shakespearean Tragedy and Its Double: The Rhythms of Audience Response by Kent Cartwright (Penn State Press, 1991). It looks like this book should prove useful, even if Cartwright is a little bit too much in love with his own jargon.
Also made my first experiment with whole-wheat bread. I didn't knead it long enough (dude, whole-wheat flour is seriously funky after two years of using ordinary bread flour), so the loaves turned out rather sullen and flat, but the taste is actually very pleasing. It also makes me feel all earth-mothery (and those of you who have met me in real life will understand just how funny THAT is), because everything is organic: organic whole-wheat flour, organic canola oil, organic brown sugar, organic rolled oats ... okay, yes, the salt's just ordinary salt. But everything else. I love the natural foods co-op.
And I seem to be getting back into the groove with my morning exercise routine, which I feel good about.
Verdict: On the whole, it's been a good and productive day.
And you're stopping because ... ? Wrists and forearms need a real break, not just me pacing around while I think of the next sentence. But may very well write more this evening. We shall see. I hate stopping when things are going well, even though I know I need to.
