Yes, when the DeLint/Bull version of Urban Fantasy came about, I was amused to realise that an exemplar of the genre was Megan Lindholm's Cloven Hooves, all of which takes place in rural locales (mostly Alaska, IIRC).

I tend not to worry about naming the subgenres so much as describing them these days.
