Let me recommend to you "The Parable of the Shower" by Leah Bobet (a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] cristalia), which is trenchant and thoughtful and passionate about any number of things, is a wickedly wickedly brilliant use of the second-person narrator, and also makes me laugh like a loon: The angel of the LORD cometh upon you in the shower at the worst possible moment: one hand placed upon thy right buttock and the other bearing soap, radio blaring, humming a heathen song of sin.

You will so not regret reading this story.

I did not fall out of my chair, because it has armrests. But I did sniffle a little bit at the end.

I think I got some funny looks from my co-workers when I started wheezing from hysterics. We work in a call-center. The escalation from boss to boss was _far_ too spot-on. Delightful, all the way through.

...I was halfway through the story before I realized that not only was it in second person, it was in second person using "thou." For that alone, I shower many accolades upon you (and laughed. A lot.).

The story itself was wonderful, and funny, and poignant, and I loved all the angels and the style in which you wrote it, and so thank you for writing it. :-)

Thank you for reccing that. I think one of my favorite lines was, "The angel of the LORD vanisheth in a puff of perplexedness and light."
