TIME: 42 min.
DISTANCE: 5.3 mi.
TOTAL DISTANCE: 242.3 mi.
DISTRACTION: The Dead Zone, "The House"
SHIRE RECKONING: Attacked by Nazgul! Aieeee! Frodo has been pierced by a Morgul blade, and is being packed off Weathertop on a pony.

This episode actually had surprising quantities of win, most but not all of which were named David Ogden Stiers.

Things that annoyed me:

1. The opening voice-over sequence (which, seriously, guys, could you not combine it with the credits and cut down the wasted space?):
A. It's lame.
B. Anthony Michael Hall is NOT one of the few American actors who should be allowed to do voice-overs.*

2. They need to decide what Johnny's psychic power is and what the rules are. Or that it's all psychic powers equally and there are no rules. Because this kind of wishy-washy "there are rules, except when we'd rather there weren't" is really getting on my nerves.

3. AMH has no charisma with kids. Which is bad when you're playing a guy who loved his job teaching high school. And when there keep being kids in the episodes.

Things that didn't:

1. The kid. The girl in this episode rocked.

2. Moral ambiguity!

3. And NOT taking the most obvious and predictable path! WIKTORY!

4. David Ogden Stiers.

5. David Ogden Stiers being Machiavellian while eating a popsicle.

6. John L. Adams, still putting 110% into a 50% role.

7. This is the first time in the entire series that Sarah Bannerman hasn't annoyed me. Her scene with Johnny really worked.

* Gillian Anderson may do any voice-over she likes. So may James Earl Jones.
