1. Pursuant to this, SFWA posts the MWA's statement disqualifying Harlequin from its list of Approved Publishers. The MWA's statement makes it clear that, yes, as I suspected, Harlequin still intends to use its rejection letters to point people toward DellArte Press.

2. from the Department of "Do You Know What Irony Is, Baldrick?"--it only figures that posting about the Mirena and its peculiar effects (thus far) on my menstrual cycle would goad my body to pony up and demonstrate that it does, indeed, remember what real cramps are like. On my personal scale, we're still in lower-case ow--with occasional peaks of Ow--but yeah. Irony. Like goldy and bronzy, only different.

I think what the world needs now is a hot bath.

Wish I could say "I have a cunning plan" but I don't. I do like your tag 'the curse is come upon me' since I said that every month since I was 14. (Some of my friends actually recognised the quotation.) I assure you, the worst tales of menopausal hot flushes are nowhere near as bad as menstrual cramps. Why do we have to endure them, when men have walked on the moon? If men went through this, a cure would have been found 20 years ago! (Sorry: I'm menopausal but erratic periods and horrendous cramps are driving me nuts. As of now, this minute. ARRGGHH!!!)

Someone I know who has _serious_ autoimmune arthritis and not of the commonist kind, got her doctor to prescribe her a hot tub and a sauna. Thus the expenses were tax deductible. Might be worth thinking about, nuh?

Ouch. I've been having my own plumbing issues this year, and went from being rather shy/uncomfortable to being willing to let anyone do anything if only they thought they might be able to fix things. You have my deepest sympathies.

I like this quote, I really do. Except for the ow preceeding it.

If you have not tapped that bottle of ginger vodka lurking in your refrigerator, what are you waiting for? Don't worry--this isn't carousing--it's medicinal!
