My apologies, I did not mean to imply ignorance on your part. Just, well, I share your concern with modes of address, and I share truepenny's near-despair at how to discover usable modes of address. I've said a lot on my blog over the years about logos vs mythos, and I suspect the answer lies somewhere in that dialectic.
