truepennyUm, assume spoilers for Angel through S4, but nothing after "Orpheus." Nothing for BtVS after "New Moon Rising" (4.19).
Willow is actually incidental to the dream, but she was definitely there.
I don't know why I dream so often about Angel, when I neither like him particularly as a character nor watch his show, but the ways of the subconscious are not for the mere rational mind to fathom.
Okay, we've got S4 Angel, except Wesley's still back in S1, with the slicked-down hair and the prissiness and the glasses. And Oz is immediately post "New Moon Rising." He's fled from Sunnydale to L.A. and is working with Angel on some sort of case. (Fill in background details as desired.)
Oz and Angel come back to the hotel to clean up (dunno what they got into, but they're both pretty much blood-covered), and Oz starts getting twitchy. "The hotel doesn't like me," he says. Angel's puzzled and disbelieving--the hotel puts up with everything else just fine, why should it balk at a werewolf?--but Oz is getting more and more agitated (in his Ozian fashion, you know). He asks Angel to stay with him until they're ready to go, instead of clearing out to go brood in the basement or something. "The hotel hates me," he says. "Or something IN the hotel. Something doesn't want me here."
But nothing attacks him, and they're leaving again, going down the staircase as Wesley's coming up. Wesley's white and sweating, and as they near each other, Oz stops. Think of this as a grotesque replay of the Oz-Tara confrontation in "NMR." Oz catches Wesley's arm and says, "It's you." Wesley has his eyes shut; he's clearly frozen in panic. "You're frightened of me. I didn't know ... but I can smell it. You ..." And, because this is just post "NMR" in Oz's personal timeline and he doesn't quite have things back under control, he starts to change, because of course to a predator like a werewolf, the smell of fear is irresistible.
They trank Oz (no, don't ask me where the trank gun came from--I think this may be where BtVS S2 Willow showed up), and there ensues a long debate about what to do with him, in which Cordelia is her S4 evil, bitchy self. Oz is woozily angsting. In fact, there's general angst all-around. I can't remember what they decided, because it was about then that I woke up. It's that Oz-Wesley interaction that's staying with me, that and Oz wigging out about the hotel.
