If you need a palate cleanser, I found Rick Geary's treatment of the case to be quite fascinating (http://www.amazon.com/Mystery-Rogers-Treasury-Victorian-Graphic/dp/1561632740/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275419614&sr=8-1)-- not the most exhaustive factual retelling, but very evocative of the period.
