in case anyone else needs distractions

I've spent most of today reading Cake Wrecks (thank you, [livejournal.com profile] zelda888!).

Also, there's a new Submachine mini-game: Submachine: 32 Chambers. It's as if somehow Mateusz Skutnik knows. (Which, just so nobody starts worrying about my grasp on reality, no, of course not.)

Once you've finished with Submachine, you might consider poking around in the Interactive Fiction Archive (http://www.ifarchive.org/).

Cake Wrecks is really cool. Especially the T-shirt design competition. Thanks for posting that.

the internet is full of things

I suppose you have already seen their website, but someone at work sent me a link to Improv Everywhere (this is a where's Waldo piece they did in Madison Garden at a Knick's game)

It's not quite "Where's Waldo?" but it's pretty close:

Honored to be of service. :-}

It occurred to me after I posted that I'd mentioned all the awful things on Cake Wrecks without pointing out the part where it's also, y'know, hilarious. It helps that the folks who write it are deft with a snarky turn of phrase and fully alive to the horrors of a misplaced apostrophe.

I owe thanks in turn for your pointer to Simon's Cat, which has amused even my anti-cat SO.

If you like Cakewrecks, you should also check out You Suck at Craigslist (yousuckatcraigslist.com). And I'm not just saying that because I know the authors.

Okay, the commentariat there is more than half the fun. Posts amusing; comments hilarious.

Thanks! We... er, I mean, the authors agree.

Hey, I know this is a bit random, but I had one of your entries open in a tab for a long time (I think over a month--I was saving it to the buy the book you talked about as a present for a friend) when Firefox crashed and I canNOT find the entry again. It was a review of a book that was about life in the Old West--not a specific biography or book about Tombstone but more general "life as a gambler/gunslinger" sort of thing. I'm pretty sure you said it talked about some famous women gamblers? I'm sorry, I know this is vague and if you're not sure what I mean just ignore me, but if you happen to remember I'd be very grateful as the friend's birthday is coming around...Thanks!

Are you thinking of Knights of the Green Cloth (http://truepenny.livejournal.com/741873.html)?
