Back from WFC. With con crud. Bleah.

Otherwise I had a lovely time, talked to many people I don't get to see nearly often enough, got some business done, ate excellent food, and kind of had a vacation, including dragging poor [livejournal.com profile] mirrorthaw all over the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on Sunday (Gorillas! Manatees! Echindas!). I was yawned at by a tiger quoll, a ginormous porcupine, a male lion among his wives, and a flying fox. Also, I preserved my geek cred by insisting on riding on the gorgeous (and gorgeously restored) 1914 carousel.

And I came home to the news that Corambis has been nominated for the 2010 Gaylactic Spectrum Award for Best Novel, so yay! Also, congratulations to all the other nominees!

Congrats! Ah, the joys of con-crud. I've started actually alerting my boss to it when I take days off. Hey, Jenn, I'm going to a con. I'll be taking thurs/Fri as vacation days and Monday as a sick day.

Yay nomination! The six-year-old in me wants to yell, "Take that, [publisher of Corambis], but I'll refrain.

Congratulations! Also, is the Columbus Zoo not nifty? It's still my favorite zoo - with particular mention of the North American section. (They are successfully breeding wolverines there. I believe they were the first zoo to do so.)

Congratulations on your nomination!! I'm about halfway through Corambis right now and loving it as much as the other books. (I keep saying, "Good job, Felix," and "Oh crap, don't DO that, Felix," and...yeah. LOL Having a great time, all around). Anyway, I just stumbled across your blog in order to thank you for writing such an awesome series because it really has been a while since I was able to pull an all-nighter just to finish reading a book, and I've done it with the whole series just this week (she says, bleary-eyed, hoping she isn't misspelling everything she writes). It's awesome to have a world with a world that's as deep as the characters (and vice versa). Best of luck to you!
