However old the tree is, this particular piece of vandalism just smells mean. I mean, what other reason to cut down that particular tree? I don't think it's a hate-crime, just a crime of cutting down something pretty for the sake of petty meanness. Like a high school mean girl clique with a chain saw.
Well, that's a horrible thought. I'm going to go Google trees, now.
