Heard Museum

On Monday morning, I took Phoenix's light rail to the Heard Museum. I did not have time to do it justice, but I am very glad I went. The two stand-out exhibits, for me, were Jesse Monongye: Opal Bears and Lapis Skies and Remembering Our Indian School Days: The Boarding School Experience.

If I get back to the Southwest again, I want to spend more time there.

I practically grew up in the Heard Museum. But the phrase "Phoenix's light rail" delivers a benign jolt of future shock.

How fun! I work very near there and have started taking the light rail some days -- I adore being able to read through most of my commute.

I'm sorry to have missed LepreCon, though -- I'll have to get myself on their mailing list. Hope you'll be able to come back another year!
