Today is definitely a mixed bag. On the plus side, excellent lunch courtesy of HL. On the negative side, another rejection letter. I've decided I just need to be kind to myself about them and accept the fact that they throw me for a loop. If I don't get any work done today, that's all right, and I'll be back on my game tomorrow. I'm not upset--and I've been upset by rejection letters, so I know the difference--I'm just ... off.

So I've been switching around my icons a little. They're here if you want to look. All Buffy, though not all Buffy. Perhaps after the series ends, my interests will actually diversify. *g*

("rliz" is [livejournal.com profile] rliz; "jess" is [livejournal.com profile] jess79; "p3" is [livejournal.com profile] jess79's fantabulous icon site, Pretty Pieces of Paper, and "lar" is [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch, whom I don't know but who made my beautiful vamp!Buffy.)

Tonight there will be new Buffy. Tomorrow I will lob out three more turnips stories. It will all be good.

At the moment I'm kind of bored and sleepy (tho' sadly not sleepy enough to nap) and gently glum and achy (menstrual cramps, doncha love 'em?). If I get bored enough, I may actually write something.

I looked through my turnips recently to see if there were any to lob, and anyplace to lob them. But alas, no. Only a longshot, which I decided not to attempt.

Oh, I'm shameless that way. I always figure, the worst that can happen is I get another rejection letter. And that's not even remotely the end of the world. Don't think. Just lob. (And now I want a t-shirt. Or at least a button.)

I've got seven out, three to go out, one that's waiting for a beta, and one that's waiting (much like the story you were posting about earlier) for me to get the guts to face it again.

I've got two out at the moment, but nothing else is ready to send. Still, two is lots better than none, and they're both pretty good.

I've got several in the "close-to-finished" state--either they need a couple of important scenes I haven't figured out yet, or they need a rewrite, like "The Princess on the Rock." I will often get inspired right around the time a good potential call for submissions shows up.

"Princess" was written for a specific anthology that didn't get off the ground, and isn't suitable for a lot of others, but if another one comes along, there I am.
