A conversation with [livejournal.com profile] persimmon has reminded me of anecdotal evidence for a benefit of drinking green tea which may be of interest to many of you, my Gentle Readers.

My mother-in-law has osteoporosis. The last time we visited, she told me that at her most recent check-up, the doctors were baffled by the fact that she seemed to be gaining bone density back at twice the expected rate (she's on the usual medication, the one I can never remember the name of). They went through lifestyle and diet and everything they could think of, and finally, tentatively, put it down to the fact that she drinks green tea every morning.

So, if you needed one, another reason to drink green tea.

I think it is Fosamax. I've never seen it written down before, and when I hear it, my brain always immediately goes to phosphorus and loses the actual word.
