Well, I met my own goal. Go Team Me.

The section on The Atheist's Tragedy is complete, and the few quotes I have for it and The Second Maiden's Tragedy are properly incorporated. The Atheist's Tragedy section is 5,200 words long. This chapter, which is about half done, is already the length of a novella: 11,300 words. For those of y'all keeping score at home, this means I can cross item #4 off my list, and about a quarter of #11.

Also, I worked in an endnote quoting Idols of Perversity, which was fun.

My brain is squelching gently around the confines of my skull. I think it's time to do something else.

Go you!

It's so nice to feel as though I have company, here in the final stretch.

It's been absolutely amazing for me, finding people here with LJ who are interested in my dissertation and interested in and supportive of my progress. You're right. It is nice to have company.

And I hope you're making good progress, too. I like to imagine this big ring of dissertators and thesis-writers--you, me, [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck, [livejournal.com profile] quine, [livejournal.com profile] misia (who isn't working for a degree, but sure is researching her eyes out), and I think there's a couple of other people who've commented (sing out, y'all!)--passing the writing and research energy around in a big circle, so that if I'm not on my game today, I can hope that that's because you are. It makes the thing feel that much less lonely.

And since being a dissertator is right up there for loneliness with being an anchorite walled up in a church, anything that wears the loneliness down is a blessing. (This goes for the non-dissertators in the cheering section, too. :) )
