The keyboard tray just completely detached itself from my desk. (Kind of like in Star Wars, where the little Imperial fighters launch themselves from the underside of the cruiser, only, you know, not as cool and with the sound effects being mostly me swearing.) This is frankly more excitement than I was looking for out of my evening.

And, yes, I am now typing with the keyboard across my lap.

yeah I've had that happen before

I tend to use my keyboard tray as a foot rest though (swung around to facethe other direction) so I've probably asked too much of it though.

Watch out for your knees if you revert to desk-top keyboard. There may be sharp edges under the desk now where the tray ripped out. The keyboard tray strikes back and all that.

I have, O Porpentine, an under-desk keyboard tray that I bought for work but never installed. Quite a nice one, adjustable-bloody-everything, doesn't look too hard to put in. If you would like it, say the word and tell me when you can come get it.

Well, Mirrorthaw put it back together, although he said dubiously, I don't know how long it'll stay. So for now I'm good. But the next time it takes a kamikaze dive at my feet, I'll remember you said that.

Thanks!
