Jacobean chapter weighs in at 87 pages.

It has occurred to me that it would probably be smart, before trying to write a conclusion, to print out what I have and (a.) read it over myself and (b.) force some luckless soul (*cough*[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck*cough*) to read over it as well.

And in the meantime, I can go back to the library and do more reading.

*But* I have a complete rough draft of the body of the dissertation, with, if not sufficient, then at least partial secondary reading. And I still have about six weeks left before my self-imposed deadline.

I may just be able to pull this off.

Oh, congratulations--that's wonderful. Isn't it a great feeling to finally have a real draft done? I'm at the final-edit stage myself, and am looking to submit in three months' time. Excited/trepidacious/jittery just about sums it up!

Anyway, good luck with meeting your deadline.

It hasn't sunk in yet. But the stack of print-out is looking, um, authoritative.

Good luck with yours, too!

Rah-rah! great. That first draft is the one that takes all the time. The editing, if not free-wheeling downhill, is at least pedalling on the flat with a slight following wind.

Kudos, and may it continue to come together as planned.

I'm so tremendously impressed with you! When I finished my masters, I looked at the next hoops for the doctorate, and thought long and hard about whether I wanted the goal enough to quadruple the pressure that the thesis put me through, and ultimately decided not. I have friends going through great pain in the composing of their disses, dealing with psycho committees and advisors, and I am in awe of those who push on through. I can only imagine the satisfaction of this stage! Go, you!

This is exciting beyond words.
