Another BtVS dream. Less narrative structure than some of my dreams; there's a good bit of Crazy Poet Spike. Oh, and general spoilers for BtVS through Season 7. Also, and I cannot emphasize this enough, this is VIOLENT, GORY, and probably DISTURBING. Definitely rated R. Don't read it if that's going to upset you, or if you don't like reading about other people's dreams. You have been warned.

We start off in Spike's crypt, with Spike and Buffy doing their Season 6 nevermind-tomorrow-fuck-me-now thing: wild, violent, passionate S6 sex. Buffy keeps saying she has to go, and not doing it. All standard. Then Buffy disappears, and Spike starts looking for her, but keeps finding corpses who talk to him, yell at him. He's dissolving from S6 Spike to S7 Spike before our eyes. He opens a refrigerator which turns out to be filled with decaying body parts, screams, jerks back, and wakes himself up.

He's in a basement. (Note, the rest of the action takes place in and around a beach-house. Yes, with a basement.) He's huddled in a chair, bruised and bloody and very much S7 Spike. He knows something's wrong, so he starts looking for Buffy.

Instead, he finds a kid, who is clearly this Beach-House-Buffy-AU version of Andrew, stoked to the gills on a drug which my subconscious insisted was called "gelignite." Also surrounded by green gilly demons, who take off when they see Spike. The not-Andrew may or may not know they're there; he's worried about his friend Cedric (Warren--and a little unnecessary help from the Potterverse, thanks ever so); Cedric and not-Andrew have had an argument--something about the "gelignite," which they're both addicted to and which seems to have summoned the green gilly demons--and Cedric has disappeared. Now Spike really wants to find Buffy.

Long complicated sequence of Spike finding Buffy, losing not-Andrew, Spike and Buffy looking for Cedric and not-Andrew, looking for Joyce and Buffy's completely un-Dawnish sister, Joyce and the sister looking for Buffy, nobody finding anybody, and then we come into focus again in a car. Not-Andrew's driving (and from here on out, not-Andrew becomes more and more Andrewlike, until by the end of the dream he is most distinctly being played by Tom Lenk, twitchy mannerisms, whiny voice, and all). There's another guy in the front seat, but don't worry about him; he's going to disappear in a minute. In the back are Buffy's un-Dawnish sister and Kate (Eliza Dushku, but NOT Faith--a little more like Missy from Bring It On). They're circling the beach-house, and somehow the car can drive on sand. (Dream logic, but it's important that the car be able to approach the house from the beach.)

At this point it becomes apparent that I've got locked into the genre conventions of the bad horror movie, because not-Andrew and un-Dawn and Kate are all flipping out to various degrees, and it's clear it's because there's a Bad Nasty after them--and most likely it's those green gilly demons. Kate and un-Dawn get out of the car on the beach; not-Andrew refuses to. Kate stays on the beach ('cause she's played by Eliza Dushku, and she's smart that way). Un-Dawn, who's having some kind of monstrous guilt-attack (over the "gelignite," I think, or perhaps sleeping with Cedric, or maybe both), disappears into the house. The car has clearly seen Christine and is becoming homicidal. It goes out into the water, turns around and plunges straight at the house. The trunk flies open, and we see Cedric's dead body. The car plows through the house, not-Andrew screaming behind the wheel, and smashes un-Dawn to pulp against a retaining wall.

Kate stands on the beach, frozen in horror.

And I wake up.

What's interesting to me here is that I lost Spike completely and replaced Buffy with Kate and un-Dawn (although not until Spike had succeeded in finding Buffy, and so was at least temporarily safe and okay), morphed not-Andrew into Andrew, and yet hung onto the mystery of what the fuck happened to Cedric all the way from beginning to end. My mind is a weird weird place, but boy does it keep a grip on narrative like grim freaking death.
