More tidying. Paragraphs of connective tissue, seeding the later chapters with terms and ideas from the introduction.

I have no sense of this thing as a whole. I no longer even have much sense of the introduction as a whole. Never mind the forest; I think I'm in a state where I can't see the trees for the bark.

It's okay. This is exactly why I imposed on the charming and talented [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck to read the whole damn thing. She can point out the trees to me again.

I think I'm going to have to make a very long list of very small and specific tasks for the editing and revising which must take place between now and October sixth (*shriek*). Because I can manage one small task at a time; it's just that those small tasks are refusing to aggregate into a larger sense of purpose or direction.

I heartily support the idea of a long list of tiny tasks - it's what I did, for sure, and it helped. Because the whole thing together is, quite frankly, terrifying. There's so much of it.

You can do this. If I can do it, you can do it.

I'm so glad that when it came time to finish my master's, I chose to do a creative project. So much easier (even though I had to write a 50 page paper discussing the "creative process" to go with it).

As ?Voltaire remarked of the saint who was supposed to have walked several miles clutching her decapitated head, 'C'est le premier pas qui coute'.
