Oh, sorry. It isn't that they have told me I haven't produced enough writing; it's that I was worried they would tell me I haven't produced enough writing. That's what I'm no longer worried about.
Do the relevant regulations specify a maximum length? I have heard that some UK universities insist on this, though it varies a lot. (I don't think it can have applied to the monster Oxford thesis I was an external for some years back.)
Not that I've ever been able to find. The requirements, in the university as a whole, and this department in particular, seem to me a little like the island from Pirates of the Caribbean: you can't find it unless you know where it is.
But someone a couple years ahead of me had a dissertation MUCH longer than this, so I'm not worried.
